Dr. José M. Heisecke

Dr. Jose M. Heisecke came to Berkshire Medical Center in 2002 as a Surgical Resident after completing his Family Practice residency at the Mcallen Family Practice Residency Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

He served as Chief Surgical Resident from 2007 to 2008 at Berkshire Medical Center. Dr. Heisecke joined Berkshire Surgical Associates in August of 2008.

Dr. Heisecke has expertise in vascular surgery, gastrointestinal and breast surgery, and also performs colonoscopy services.

Dr. Heisecke lives in Pittsfield with his wife Christina and his 5 children.  He even spent a few years playing professional soccer in Paraguay where he was raised.  

Dr. Heisecke is board certified in Family Medicine and was fellowship trained in Cardiovascular Surgery from Hospital Privado Frances in Paraguay.

 Dr. Jose M. Heisecke was born in Texas, but raised in Paraguay. After graduating Medical School in 1997, he moved back to Texas to complete his medical training. Dr. Heisecke specializes in vascular, gastrointestinal, and breast surgeries and is the first of two surgeons in Massachusetts to successfully utilize a new EVAR graft. In 2008, Dr. Heisecke joined Berkshire Surgical Associates and became a faculty member at Berkshire Medical Center. He speaks Spanish, English, and Portuguese fluently. He lives in Pittsfield with his wife, Christina, and their six children. He enjoys spending time with his family and playing soccer, which he did professionally while living in Paraguay.
