Laparoscopic surgery, also known as minimally invasive or bloodless surgery, is used whenever possible at Berkshire Surgical Associates (BSA). Because operations are performed with smaller incisions and more precise instruments, patients experience less pain, lower risk of infection and faster healing. Not all operations can be performed laparoscopically, and some patients have medical conditions that prohibit the use of this technique.

Because of our affiliation with the University of Massachusetts as a teaching hospital, BSA physicians are always up to date with the latest technology and practice in minimally invasive surgery.
