Eugene L. Curletti, M.D., F.A.C.S.
“I grew up in Pittsfield.  I couldn’t be happier practicing surgery in this community and at this hospital, because I believe Berkshire Medical Center is as good as anywhere in the country. It offers all the aspects of an academic surgery hospital combined with the closeness of a community hospital setting. In my experience, when patients are taken care of in their local environment rather than having to travel, they and their families are more comfortable. When people have to leave their home area to get health care, it adds to the stress.  Being treated locally is good for the healing process.  It provides peace of mind.”

Dr. Curletti joined Berkshire Surgical Associates in 1980 after completing his surgical residency at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. He received his medical training at the University of Vermont Medical College in Burlington and did his undergraduate studies at Tufts University, Medford, MA. He has been an Assistant Professor of Surgery, University of Massachusetts Medical School since 1981.

Dr. Curletti has expertise in vascular surgery, breast surgery and  the only member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons in Berkshire County

Dr. Curletti lives in Pittsfield, MA, with his wife Dolly, who is marketing director for Kimball Farms, a retirement community in Lenox, MA. Their five children are grown and the Curletti’s have three grandchildren and are expecting a fourth. Dr. Curletti likes the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing in the Western US. He also enjoys playing golf and traveling overseas.
