Richard M. Basile, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Basile came to Berkshire Medical Center in 1977 as a surgical intern after graduating from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. He joined Berkshire Surgical Associates in 1982. Since 1983 he has been Assistant Professor of Surgery, University of Massachusetts Medical School.
 
In 2005 along with Dr. Parvis Sadighi (now retired), he founded the BMC Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. He currently serves as its Director.
 
Dr. Basile lives in Richmond, MA, with his wife Kathleen and their son Michael. A passionate rugby fan, he played at college, medical school and in a local community league. An avid Boston Red Sox fan, he enjoys playing baseball with his son. He loves the ocean, the coast of Maine and salt water fishing. In winter, he likes to ski.
