Patient Information

At Berkshire Surgical Associates we understand that when you are considering surgery there is never enough information available to you. We provide information here about some of our procedures and policies.

We also offer resources for patient education including links to external websites to help you understand the procedures and conditions of concern to you.

The personal touch is important to us.

Whenever possible, we greet you by name and hope that you will get to know our medical assistants on a first name basis. Linda, Tammie, Sue, Jean, Helen, Becky, Brittney, and Bernadette will help you with scheduling and pre- and post-operative care.

Although each of our physicians has a lead assistant, you may interact with any one of them when you visit or call our office.

Scheduling/Support

Pittsfield - Janice and Helen will assist you with scheduling appointments with your surgeon. You may reach them at 413-445-6420.

Great Barrington - Bernadete and Brittney will assist you with making appointments with your surgeon. You may reach them at 413-644-6499.

North Adams - Call 413-664-5999.

Please understand that many of our patients have serious injuries or illnesses that require immediate surgical treatment. Thus delays or changes in our schedule may occur. We attempt to phone patients to make them aware of delays as soon as we are aware of schedule changes. We appreciate your understanding.

Testing / Insurance - Our Patient Account Specialist Linda is also available to answer any insurance-related questions you may have. She also works with patients to schedule any additional testing that is required.

Administration - Christopher J. Pedersen is the Practice Administrator and is available to discuss any issues you may have.

Billing

All our billing is handled locally in our Pittsfield office by our experienced billing staff. You can reach billing directly at 413-499-4906.

We understand that navigating the complexities of medical insurance is daunting to many of our patients. That’s where the 45 years of combined experience of our billing staff can help you simplify the process. We will work with you to answer questions you may have and resolve issues with your insurance carrier.

Mary, Carol, Bonnie and Becky are available from 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday to assist you.

Linda, our Patient Account Specialist, is also available to help you set up payment options, if needed.
